Company Background

Todays' company, a well respected timber product trading company, was first established in 1927 by Mr Albert Plaut who began importing veneers and other timber materials. In 1948, the limited company, Albert Plaut Limited was developed.

In 1989, the current Managing Director, Eddie Lindenberg conducted a management buyout of the successful agency company and renamed it as Albert Plaut Wood Agencies Limited. By this time the products being handled ranged from traditional sheet material such as plywood to joinery items such as doors.

From these foundations the company further developed into Plaut International Limited in1994 with further range expansions being introduced at that time.

As a result of our successes we are currently sourcing products from around 25 countries world wide, enjoying relationships with some trading partners for more than four decades.

Currently, Plaut International consists of three trading divisions, Sheet Material and DIY Home Products and Components. The trading personnel are supported by fully staffed Shipping, Finance and Administration departments using one of the most developed computer systems in the agency trade at the present time.
